Problems post-colonoscopy

Postby Lydia666 » Sun Sep 16, 2018 7:56 pm

Hi everyone,
I had a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago. For the first time i tried the protocol of 2 sachets of pico-salax which seemed easier than the 4liters of golytly but i've been having constant diarhea since!! I am sick of it. Has this happened to anyone and what did you do?
Thank you.

I usually only had diarrhea for a few days when I used pico salax. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time!*hugs* I would ask your doctor to prescribe something to help stop the diarrhea. I hope you feel better soon!*hugs*

Talk with your DR. Drink Gatoraid. One thing I found that has helped me with extreme diareah issues in 6 smaller meals/snacks throughout the day. Small portions! No raw vegetables or fruits (banana is ok though). Tea settled my stomach. And lying down after eating sometimes helps too. Buy the Depends. Buy long panty liners for ladies. I always put a line in my Depend and if it is a small accident, I can just switch out the liner instead of the Depend. It is more economical that way. I try to get 12 hours out of one, but some days I will go through 3 in an hour. Make sure you have a barrier cream to keep your skin protected. And wet wipes. I hope you feel better soon.
