Well I'm a female can't really help with your retrograde ejaculation. May wanna pass that by your doctor. Butt for me following my surgery, I passed gas for a few weeks. Was told to expect it.

Was your surgery lapro or were you cut open? I was cut open. It took 6 weeks before I started to feel anything normal. This is major surgery, maybe give yourself a few more weeks to heal. When do you see your doctor next?

If you are not walking, I would highly recommend you do. It really does help with the healing process.

Good luck,

You're gonna have some bowel side effects for a while. The other problem you're having I hear is totally normal with some men - I never experienced it but have heard about it. And from what I understand, you just have to give things time.
Colonoscopy 2/17, 5cm tumor descending
Diagnosed stage iv, liver mets 3/17
Colon resection 3/17
Told surgery not an option, get my affairs in order
Meet w/MSK team 5/01/17
Folfox(3rds) 5/17-6/17
Liver resection/implant HAI pump 7/17
HAI pump chemo(5rds) 8/17-2/18
Folfiri+Vectibix(11rds) 8/17-2/18
Spot on chest CT 10/17
Lung biopsy (that was fun) 11/17
Nocardia bacterial infection w/spread to brain (this is serious) 11/17
IV antibiotics 12/17-2/18
Oral antibiotics 3/18-12/18
Clear of cancer since surgery

Dude, you're 8 days out of resection and you're even having erections? Dios Mio. I thought I was a horn dog! LOL. Slow down my friend.
Yes retrograde ejaculation is a common thing with LAR/ULAR. If you had a resection in the lower sigmoid/rectum area the nerve endings can take a severe beating.
You also most likely had urinary catheter placed during the surgery procedure and some times they shove that thing into the wrong trek (Nurse told me that happened to me. URRGGG!). When they pull this back out it can cause damage to the flap that closes/opens during ejaculation and thus some of your semen may back flow into your bladder. (maybe that's good for the bladder, all those stem cells). At any rate like all the other lovely symptoms we are dealt, this usually improves with time as well. I can say it has improved a lot for me. For the first few months I'd be lucky to have a couple drops arrive to the party, but now I'd say volume is about 50% what it was prior to surgery. Which was 17 months ago for me. It may continue to improve up to 2 years. Also research suggests that use of Viagra can help with stimulation of these damaged nerve endings during these next 2 years. On top of that assistance, Viagra has been shown to reduce recurrence of colon cancer.
