Deann wrote:My condolences for her family and friends. I'm sorry to hear this and had just been re-reading a message from her to me in 2012 when I had my first colonoscopy and let her know it turned out clear.
At that time, horizon (posted just above me) also sent me a helpful message ... thank you. Some others did too but I'll post again later regarding that.
But it was strange as I had just been thinking of her. Sorry to hear this and sincere condolences.

That made me smile. Thank you! Bev gave me support as well when I was new here.

Like many others who had a sense of dread in seeing the thread topic, so did I. It's frankly SHOCKING to hear of Bev's passing. She was one of the 'old guard'.....and sadly, there are few of us left. Bev and Ashley were dear friends and Bev took Ashley's passing hard (for the life of me I can't remember Ashley's screen name....CR...to do you remember it??). I wonder, does anyone know how Bev's husband is doing?

Bev was such an inspiration to so many....particularly to those with Stage IV disease. She gave newbies some hope and recognized how fortunate she was. As so many of you have noted, Bev had diabetes and helped so many as a diabetic patient and an RN who was trained in the disease. Dang, it is so sad and difficult to comprehend that this woman is no longer on this earth. Although I doubt she passed from CRC, it still makes me truly realize how short our lives are and how we are all so vulnerable.

To Bev's family....husband, children and grandchildren.....my condolences to you. Please know that Bev was a loved and respected member of this community. She will be deeply missed but will be finally 'reunited' with her dear friend, Ashley.

RIP dear Bev.

I believe Ashlee H.
I recall Bev located some pics / posts / obituary notices for her and we posted those into the Memorial topic and chatted a bit on FB when I was still there.

I had almost forgotten I dubbed her our “Den Mother” here .... BUTT she deserved it and loved it, too.

Thanks for remembering that Karen.

I am so very sad to hear this. She was one of the first members to welcome me back in May 2011. She gave my mother and I hope.

I'm absolutely devastated. Like the other "old timers" here, I had the privilege of sharing many conversations with Bev. She was full of nothing but love and encouragement for all of us here. Our Den Mother shared so much of herself with us and she will be deeply missed. Let's all do something in honor of her memory. Share a bit of kindness, say a word of encouragement to someone who needs it, and act upon your love.

Peace my friends.

dianetavegia wrote:Bev has been on my heart and in my head for a few months. Last time we 'talked' she had been deathly ill from kidney concerns from her diabetes. I think she said Diabetic Ketoacidosis. It had nothing to do with her cancer CURE. She would want you to know that her regular testing showed her still cancer FREE this summer.

I tried sending her a message a few weeks ago. She had earlier said that her son was moving near to be able to help out.

Bev always kept my head on straight and remember to rely on my faith and not fear. She was a fine Christian woman and we chatted on the phone a number of times. Her husband helped us when we found out our grandbaby was going to be Down Syndrome and they checked in right after his birth to find out about any heart concerns.

Bev was 4 years younger than me and diagnosed almost exactly one year after I was dx'd.

She was one who always put others first. She will be missed. RIP, Bev and see you in heaven!

Diane

I will bet it was the diabetes,as she suffered numerous bouts with it . Bev was a good soul, sorry to hear of her passing .

Glad you posted w/update Diane. I had noticed Bev had not been on forum in a long while, but people do that + Bev was quite saddened by some of the losses on the forum a few years ago. Just wasn't the same for her anymore w/o some of her CT besties as I recall her stating, yet she'd still pop in. And a lot of members have gone to FB these days.
I'd get a kick out of Bev once in awhile. Sometimes when she wasn't trying to be funny @ all, she actually was. :)

I wish she would/could have checked in. Condolences to her family, friends.

So many names who were regular posters when I got dx are now gone. Bev was a insightful person who imparted her knowledge in regular post that would always give me hope when I needed it most.

Thank you

RIP Bev

Wow, I am so very sad to read this. Bev was such a fixture on this board. She was a good writer and I loved her sense of humor. She was so responsive. Also, she was very dedicated to her husband, moving to Vermont to support his medical care-- and shared openly, and at times humorously, her struggles with him. She was very much a nurturer and will really leave a void here.

This is so horrible. Bev was an amazing Lady. I know she had multiple medical issues not related to her cancer but she muscled through them. My Hear hurts.
