I too am saddened by her passing. She was so supportive to so many here and had a great attitude. She will be sorely missed.

RIP dear Bev. Love & peace to your family and friends.

Oh wow....I'm so sad to hear this....I feel terrible but I honestly thought she was long term NED, I dont EVER remember seeing her post anything that she was again fighting her cancer. She rather always tried to comfort and educate others in need of help here. May God rest her beautiful soul.... :(

I am saddened to read of the loss of Bev G. She was wonderful making people feel comfortable living with the new normal of cancer. If my memory is correct, she had other health issues prior to being diagnosed with cancer.

Her life lived as a long term Stage IV survivor is one that many here should use as the hope that each year can lead to many more and productive memories.

Thank you Bev G for caring so much about others on this forum... RIP Bev G.

Bev and I joked numerous times on and off forum about a few of ongoing "themes"

1. my use of the phrase " ... they don't know shit from shinola ... "
she GOT it and we were not sure a lot of others did  so she loved using it

2. "...on the JOURNEY ..." which was my kind of tag line for a lotta posts ...
She considered this CRC bullshit more of a "KIDNAPPING"
and not any kind of Journey

3. She was a well educated diabetic nurse/educator
she ALWAYS had lots of real world medical info about a LOTTA stuff
which she would share selflessly with all our homies here

4. She had many health issues of her own and her family's
and would ALWAYS post into any topic where she felt her real world experience could offer support

5. she was the victim of some online bullshit directed AT her because she was here

WE figured out who the assholes were and nuked them back to the last millenium

BUTT all her communications with me were "in confidence" and she never called them out on forum

6. BevG IS a classy lady
much loved and followed on this forum

gone now
BUTT never forgotten

Harmony sista'
you are your own Journey now
and I know you would approve of that term

Love Peace and Harmony Bev

Bev has been on my heart and in my head for a few months. Last time we 'talked' she had been deathly ill from kidney concerns from her diabetes. I think she said Diabetic Ketoacidosis. It had nothing to do with her cancer CURE. She would want you to know that her regular testing showed her still cancer FREE this summer.

I tried sending her a message a few weeks ago. She had earlier said that her son was moving near to be able to help out.

Bev always kept my head on straight and remember to rely on my faith and not fear. She was a fine Christian woman and we chatted on the phone a number of times. Her husband helped us when we found out our grandbaby was going to be Down Syndrome and they checked in right after his birth to find out about any heart concerns.

Bev was 4 years younger than me and diagnosed almost exactly one year after I was dx'd.

She was one who always put others first. She will be missed. RIP, Bev and see you in heaven!

Bev was a very genuine person that I feel helped a very large number of people over the years. Having had an uncle that I lost to type 1 diabetes, I know that its about as insidious as cancer can be. RIP Bev!

Thanks for sharing Diane. That explains a lot. She beat the cancer but had other serious health issues... I did not know...

I was dreading clicking this thread. Very sad to hear that. Condolences to her family.
I'm just a dude who still can't believe he had a resection and went through chemo (currently 12 years NED). Is this real life?

My condolences for her family and friends. I'm sorry to hear this and had just been re-reading a message from her to me in 2012 when I had my first colonoscopy and let her know it turned out clear.
At that time, horizon (posted just above me) also sent me a helpful message ... thank you. Some others did too but I'll post again later regarding that.
But it was strange as I had just been thinking of her. Sorry to hear this and sincere condolences.

I felt an immediate and deep sense of hollowness on seeing Bev’s name in the title of this thread, inherently knowing that opening this thread would be announce of her passing.

The world has lost a bright light with Bev’s passing.

Bev was fondly bestowed the title of “Den Mother” by many of this forum’s members a few years ago. Bev had a unique ability to find and foster the common ties that can bond people together. She radiated a gentleness and warmth that was palpable. Her keen intellect and spunky wit added to the uniqueness that was Bev.

Thank You, Bev, for being you.

Blessings,
Karen
