Bev G

Postby ams5796 » Thu Sep 06, 2018 12:46 pm

I just read on facebook that BevG passed away this week. I don't know any details. It makes me very sad that such a special person was taken from our world too soon again. This is a huge loss for our community. Maybe folks who know more about this will chime in.

My condolences and best wishes to her family and her many friends.

What?? Oh my gosh- I’m shocked. The last post I see on her FB page is on 8/10 asking for prayers for her. She was the first person to respond to me on the board five years ago. We had similar disease paths. Do you know what happened? I feel awful. My condolences to her family. Bev was an enormous support to so many on this board.

She was in remission for a very long time. It must of been something not related directly to her cancer. I too am shocked, for she seemed to be doing very well.

Her family has my deepest sympathy and of course prayers.

Thanks for starting this topic Ann.
I just found out about this earlier from Chris Wills and do not have any further background than what you noted.

I have posted an In Memoriam for Bev and also hope her many friends can let us know more of the story.

Classic Bev from her third post in this forum.....

The diagnosis is of course shocking, kind of beyond words that have yet to be invented, and breath-takingly scary.
I think for many people it forces us to think about stuff we would much rather have the luxury of thinking about over decades,
not days, or weeks, or months. [...]
You will see that there are tons of people on this board who have lived a really long time with pretty serious cancer.
Let that try to encourage you as you are finding out what is happening.

It encourages me everyday.

This blog and its wonderful people have become a kind of lifeline for me in a very short time.
I read it constantly and have learned a lot and have had a lot of my fears lessened.
Visit here as you want and I bet you will feel less alone, encouraged, cared about and supported.

Bev was always helpful with new people on this forum and the old timers. She was honest, while being pleasant and informative. She knew a lot and was always willing to answer questions and give individual advice to each forum member. I am so sad to hear this and send prayers to her family and friends.

It was with deep sadness that I read the news of Bev's passing. It was totally unexpected for me. I know she has been suffering some strange and difficult to diagnose problems in the past twelve months. I don't think it was cancer related directly but may have stemmed from some long term side effects of her past cancer and her ever present diabetes. She was always a great help to the survivors who also suffered diabetes , she really knew her stuff. I will miss her. Ron.

I am so shocked to hear this news about Bev.

She was liked and a best friend to so many of us for who have posted here for years.

Always so hopeful and helpful to newbies. Bev, had such a positive attitude even when she faced complications from treatment and going through cancer with her husband as well when he became ill.

I wish peace and comfort to her dear family and friends.

Went in for surgery for a cyst on my bladder, and they found colon cancer growing on the outside of the colon. Got to have two surgeries at the same time! Stage 3, one node involved.

She had been Stage4 for many years and I assumed she had been "cured". This reminds me of BROWNBAGGER who also had been Stage4 for many years. Both were regulars on this site and posted messages almost every day, including answering some of my inquiries.

It feels to me like losing good friends.
