My first visit with the oncologist I was told then there was no surgery for my condition having 17 tumors , he told me my liver would look like Swiss cheese. But a week later at my appt with my liver surgeon I was told there was potential with a good response from chemo. My CEA at the beginning was 490. So my first scan two months later showed 40% shrinkage and CEA dropped to 67. Still my oncologist told me at that appt. I know the surgeon told you there could be surgery but I don't think it will happen. He started to talk about finishing the 12 rounds of folfox then going to maintenance chemo. Two months later another 30% shrinkage and CEA dropped to 2.9. At that time he referred me back to the surgeon and surgery was scheduled. Definitely get another opinion from a surgeon if you don't like what you hear from the oncologist. Best of luck to you
