Good news!

So the new scans show the liver mets are shrinking! We are talking between 1-2 cm down from scans done in April!
They noted even a slight decrease in the colon!

The oncologist finally showed us the CEA and its still to high to measure but the hope is to see it come down although on here I have heard many different views on CEA so not letting it get me down. A couple months ago the doctor said my husband was inoperable now she is suggesting we call up to Cleveland clinic to talk to a liver surgeon!

Thanking God, and all of your for providing wisdom and support.

Great news! I can't recall: did your H have his primary tumor removed, so that it was just the liver mets that were considered inoperable?

The doctor said he was inoperable with the amount of disease on his liver, before yesterday.

I feel like if he'd been able to continue vectibix without having to stop every 2 weeks things would be even smaller.

He's not had any resecting done yet anywhere

Good to hear and hoping that they get to resectable or vanish altogether.

I am happy to share that DHs, AST ALT and Alkaline Phosphate numbers are all back to or 8 points from normal ranges.

He has done 2 back to back rounds of vectibix and hating every bit of the rash. He talked them into adjusting the dosage to 75% but it's pretty bad and he's not sure he could fight them on it if they say he needs a break from it.

We've seen 1-2 centimetres of shrinkage of leisons on the liver and slight/mild decrease in the colon. Continued prayers and good vibes!

Can you tell me more about the rash side effect? I don’t know much about it except it shows up on the face and chest. I might be doing Vectibix.

DH has been doing Vectibex since May. First session was nothing and then boom...his face looked like really bad acne, complete with white/yellow zits. Red dots spread to chest and back. It has calmed down now some since he's learned how to take care of it.

He has learned several lessons: don't pick at the pimples! They'll bleed and create nasty scabs. Don't use acne cream or harsh soap. DO slather on sunscreen when going outside and DO wear a hat. DO use a moisturizer in the morning and in the evening. He's used Jack Black brand and Nivea on the face with Aveeno and/or Eucerin on the chest and back. Like all over and a lot of it.

The doctor gave him a prescription for a gel which he puts on too and an antibiotic which he takes for the week after treatment.

Onward,
M
