Nope. But we (DW+myself) were never excessive diners and continue to enjoy any types of meat, (shell)fish, veggies, pastas and an occasional drink.

I am currently 5.5 years since diagnosis of Stage IV to liver and lungs. After chemo, surgeries (6), cryoablations, and maintenance chemo I was NED for 15 months. Just found a small spot on my lower left lung and have another cryoablation scheduled Sept. 5th to take care of that one. Been living a near normal life for 3+ years now!

Today’s my 20 year anniversary of my diagnosis at age 31 with stage 4 rectal cancer with a met to liver. I’ve been NED since surgery.

Makes me hopeful as a new stage 4 colon and rectum cancer diagnosis with a newly found metastasis in my brain. At 46 and healthy, I am really positive and hopeful that after my brain tumor is removed next week and then onto radiation, chemo and surgically remove colon tumors, I will have a chance.

Reading this board has been the most reinforcing, satisfying and positive feedback I have read the last two weeks. I am so happy to see so many survivors that are healthy and happy and get to spend more time with their loved ones. Gives me hope in modern cancer treatments for everyone suffering with this terrible disease...

Right now I am NED! I will take that for however long it lasts. One thing this board has taught me is that even if it does come back, there are success stories and lots of support. I do not think a how many years timeline is so good because it varies so much for different people. I am taking it 1 day at a time. Trying to fit in some fun stuff, as I am able. Life is going on and I am happy to be here!

My onc said 'cured' in April based on the cure chart that says 6 years after a liver resection with no recurrence is cured and 6 years 4.8 months the chance of a met drops to that of the healthy population who've never had CRC. I'm at that point but will have a final CT in early October then go to a CEA every ??? for a few years.

I was NOT Stage IV at dx, tho. My liver met was metrochronus (appeared more than 2 years post dx).
Stage III cc surgery 1/7/09. 12 tx FOLFOX
Stage IV PET = 1.5cm liver met. HR 4/11/12

14 years since dx and 11 years post liver resection.
Pronounced CURED and discharged by onc

Hi. I believe I was staged IV in August 2016, had a lymph node puff up in my abdomen. Two surgeries plus radiation/xeloda combo and I am still vertical. It is great to hear about all of you thriving. I have hope.
