Hello,
My name is Kim Moore and my husband is the one that has the cancer. He is considered inoperable and terminal - We just found out this information about a month ago. We are told he has Peritoneal carcinomatosis, and they can only offer palliative measures. He just started chemo again yesterday. I know that everyone's cancer journey is different, but could someone shed some light on what we can expect going forward? Right now, he feels good and is still working full time. This is all surreal...

Thank you in advance

Hi Kim,

Welcome, sorry for the reason you had to join. Not sure where you live, butt getting a 2nd opinion at a major cancer hospital or major cancer treatment center is ALWAYS a good idea. You might want to do a search here on HIPEC procedure. Top left hand "Search this Forum", input HIPEC.

While it is hard to treat, some member have reached NED (No Evidence Detected). Butt again you need to be treated by a very aggressive team, like those found at a major cancer treatment center.

Hope this helps, good luck,

Lee

Hey Kim,

Lee is absolutely correct to point out that you're more likely to find a team willing to aggressively treat the cancer at a major cancer center. I would also encourage you to not accept the first, second or even third medical opinion if you don't like what you hear. It wasn't until I went for a fourth opinion that I heard the word "cure" and I never looked back. I'm now 17 months out from diagnosis and cancer free after being told by several doctors there was no hope and I would be gone inside of 24 months. There's always hope.

I see that you are in Texas, By any chance near Houston?

MD Anderson is one of the best cancer hospitals. If you can, check it out.
