O/T but need anyone's experiences, PLEASE!
Quick recap.....back in 2012/2013, I was trying to stack some wood, put too much in the wheelbarrow, it tipped over and I fell....HARD on the concrete in our garage....on the right side of my tush/hip and then hit my head. I was in PAIN and went to the ER. X-rays were taken....nothing appeared to be broken, etc. Since then, I have been in pain on/off. My muscles in my butt spasm and my hip area hurts. I've tried PT, OTC meds and even some Rx meds. Nothing works so I finally said, 'ok, I've got to do SOMETHING'. Last Dec, I had an MRI....nothing out of the ordinary. I've been treated for a myriad of issues....some PTs say 'its piriformis'..another says 'hip flexor muscle problem', etc. I saw a doctor who recommended I see this ortho rehab doc for ultrasound guided injections. My consult with her seemed to point to hip bursitis and NOT the other things I have been treated for all these years. Ok, scheduled my cortisone shot into my bursa and the tendon sheath for last Tuesday (July 17th). It went well...or so I thought. So here's where I need any advice or to hear your stories. While yes, I was always in 'pain' it wasn't like this!! Immediately after the shot...I was in Heaven until....the lidocaine wore off. Then this AWFUL burning/pulling feeling around the injection site started. Never had anything like that....ever! It was as though I had been burned and my clothes were scraping against me. Sometimes the burning felt more on the surface....others it was a deep down burning. While that pain has diminished somewhat, it is still there if I move the right way or honestly, I don't know what the heck I do/don't do to make it happen. It's been 6 days and it is still there.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? I NEVER had this type of pain prior to the shot. I've read a person can get something called 'cortisone flare' and I wonder if that might be what I am dealing with????
I'll call the office tomorrow but wanted to hear from anyone whose had a cortisone shot and had this type of a reaction. It's awful!
