Worried about recurrence.

Postby Coachtsb » Thu Jul 12, 2018 8:08 pm

Good evening y’all. Just wanted to jump on here and vent a little if that’s ok. I was Diagnosed 12/21/15 with Stage IV colon cancer, Mets to liver and primary tumor grown into bladder. Had the chemo, surgeries, more chemo...y’all know the drill. Anyway, all was well. Last fall the found a tiny spot on my lung. Had a wedge resection in December of 17. All has been good...scans, CEA, etc. Well, the past two weeks have been pretty rough for the ‘ol gut. Been a crazy stressful summer. I teach and coach high school football. After 21 years of being an assistant coach, I had a dream come true. I got hired as a head Football coach. Something I had all but given up on. That has been awesome. Only problem is having to relocate. I’ve been commuting an hour and a half each way, trying to sell a house, working on buying a house, went on a mission trip with my church, trying to navigate my 3 kids through the move as they have to give up their normalcy and friends. I have not had a “break” all summer. I’d been going a million miles an hour. My “vacation” was that mission trip, which was very stressful. Anyway, ever since I’ve gotten back my stomach has been torn up after I eat anything and I’ve had inconsistent BM’s and just feeling bad. Of course, the old brain goes straight to RECURRENCE. I had clear scans back in April and I have my next scans on July 27th. I’m trying not to stress everyone out about this, so I figured I’d vent here. Praying for peace and that God will allow me to be around for my family and to see this new job opportunity through as I believe He orchestrated this new adventure. I could go on and on but Rambling over...for now. Thanks

Hi ,
That is how my system reacts to stress and to date I have not had a cancer diagnosis. However I do think there is a wee message in there to build in a bit of relaxing time . Some things obviously can’t be changed overnight but taking time to relax can be done .
You sound as though you are doing really well health wise .
Take care,
Stu

I'm hoping that you can get some down time and take a break. Perhaps a friend, relative might be able to help out for a while.
