CBD oil and IBS

Postby gmc1345 » Sun Jul 08, 2018 9:20 pm

Has anyone had experience with CBD oil and its effect on IBS?
I particularly suffer from excess unpassable gas and fragmented stools which gets worse with social activities - like even when I am enjoying what I'm doing outside in my head I know the next day is going to be a healing process -just-massage and go walking until you pass all the stools stored from this occasion...
I got some CBD oil today and I am curious if there are certain ways consuming it may help [better]..

Sorry no one has responded yet. I don't really have an answer, butt I would say give it a try. Don't see where it would hurt and it just might help.

Good luck and let us know.

My daughter suffers from IBS and is also going to try CBD. I will let you know her experience when I hear from her and I look forward to hearing how CBD works for you. I hope you will report your experience back here. I hope it's helpful!

Just a warning, diarrhea is a common side effect as the oil "lubricates" your intestines so don't be surprised if this happens.
Severe Crohn's colitis jan 2015
Developed fistulas feb 2015
Open total proctocolectomy with end ileostomy (bye bye colon and rectum hello barbie butt) because of fistulas, Crohn's and crc risk May 5, 2017
Gastroduodenal Crohn's Nov 1, 2017
Severe Gastroparesis (delayed gastric emptying) Nov 9, 2017 GES showed 70 % remaining in stomach at 4 hrs. Normal is <10%
Jejunostomy (J tube) surgery Oct 17, 2018.
Didn't go so well. Small bowel obstruction found Oct 26, 2018.

@zephyr that happens even with quality products. They are suspended in oil so that is a highly possible side effect at first. The mmj nurse warned about this in the education group at my pain clinic. I'm in Canada so prescription and purchase through a licensed producer is required at this moment so quality is not an issue at all. There are other possible side effects but this and dry mouth are very common.

I take it multiple times a day for the cancer. I will say I suffer pretty bad constipation from the colon issues and pain meds. It has really helped me with that. It helps with pain and muscle soreness. I would definitely try it, it has no real side effects and its natural. Make sure you find a good medical grade, a lot of it is not great out there.
