Procedure is this Friday. I'm getting more nervous. Also the blood in my stool has decreased drastically but I'm making myself not use it as an excuse to cancel my appointment.

I feel like my anxiety is going to be on 100 this entire week. Smh

Stay strong and keep that appointment! You’re doing great & we’re all pulling for you! It’ll be over and done faster than you expect, and then you’ll hopefully have a path forward for relief of your symptoms.

Good luck!!

Getting the colonoscopy is nothing more than a minor inconvenience, certainly not bad enough to warrant not doing it. I so wish I had just done it back when my symptoms first started, but yeah, you hear people talk about how bad the prep is, and it freaks you out a bit. But trust me, there was really nothing to it. I'm so glad now to have an idea of what I'm up against, instead of trying to tell myself that it's OK, sure, normal to have some blood in your poop, because it's not, and the sooner you can rectify that, the better.

You'll be fine.

Good luck with your colonscopy. The prep is not fun, but what was great for me is that I had a bed side commode toilet and just kept in the living room and just stayed up all night there watching the Bachelorette. Warning, do not drink the prep over your laptop keyboard as it killed mine. I was so bored typing on the colon talk board, that I actually ruined my new lap top so please be careful. Do not eat orange jellow, it shows up in the photos they take.

Pros: I lost 5 pd. The best meal is after the prep

Cons: You go #2 all night long. You get tired but having a commode helped. Your ass starts to hurt so wipe with gentle wipes.

I was happy to found out the polyp they took out was benign. I had to fight to get one done because I was 38 at the time. My mom was DX in 2017. They really need to make the new age 40 not 50!!

The best thing to do, is to just do it! I also had a mammogram last week. Early detection is best! XOXO

I noticed my prep was a little different than most. I haven’t been able to eat meat for 3 days now. Today I was only allowed clear liquids. At 2 pm I had to drink a bottle of magnesium. Then at 6pm I had to drink an entire bottle of miralax mixed with Gatorade. It was actually pretty tasty...or maybe I’m just hungry. Lol. At 11, which is in 30 minutes I have to drink another bottle of magnesium. Then finally at 12 I can even have anything to drink.

Whoever said the prep was the worst part I would say you’re correct. Lol. My procedure is at 7 tomorrow. I’m looking forward to getting this out of the way, having a big meal, then going to sleep!

I hope that your procedure went okay. I opted out for twilight sedation. I wanted to be completely out.... with Fentanyl.. I think I was the only one completely out cause I woke up from my procedure and proceeded with long loud fluffs lol.. and then I put my clothes on and met my father out in the waiting room. I remember everyone else was still sleeping.. I remember it took my mom an hour to wake up from her conscious sedation. My first meal after procedure was an amazing lobster sandwich, with french fries and a shirley temple and enjoyed every single bite. It was dam* good!!

I hope you get your results soon. Please keep us posted. xx :D

Hello everyone! So my colonoscopy went great on Friday. They only found hemorrhoids.

I can honestly say you all are right, the worst part about the entire process is the prep. Lol.

I want to say thank you to everyone who gave me nice and encouraging words. You guys rock! Really made me feel better about this entire process.
