Stomach Cramps - 6 months after Polyp removal

Postby JGU1986 » Tue Jun 26, 2018 1:28 pm

Hi All.......I have frequented this site many times in the past year. Blood in stool led to a sigmoid scope where a non malignant 1.5 cm tubular adenoma was removed in December of 2017, February of 2018 I had a full colon scope and was given a clear colon with follow ups every 3 years given the size. Fast forward to this past weekend and I started having stomach cramps, mild but fairly consistent and have stuck around for 3 days now. My first thought is that either something was missed or I have something growing inside of me quickly. Looking for your thoughts on how quickly things can progress? Am I crazy to think that something has grown between February and June? I have scheduled an appointment with my family doctor but the earliest they could fit me in is 1 week from today.

Thanks and take care everyone!

31 year old male
Father of two
Early 2017 - Symptoms present
Late 2017 - 1.5 cm tubular adenoma removed during sigmoid scope
Early 2018 - Follow up colonoscopy showed no other polyps

I would highly doubt that a new polyp could grow to the size of blocking the bowel, or one big enough to be that size now was missed.

You may be developing some IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Worry can do that. I really don't think that anything would grow large enough to cause any pain in just a few short months. Take it easy and try to eat a mild diet.

Good luck,
