I do have a headache and am aching through the back of my head and shoulders - i had this yesterday and some of the achiness started on the weekend so im thinking its from stress and the anxiety so hope it goes away with regular Tylenol doses.

I would mention the headache to your oncologist. I was receiving Aloxi for nausea during infusion. I'd have a pretty bad headache for a couple of days, so we switched to Emend during infusion. No more headaches.

I had infusion yesterday and am at home with the 46 hour 5FU pump. I feel pretty good today, but won't feel so great on Thursday after Wednesday disconnect. Then I'm usually OK until the middle of the second off week when nausea pops up. I take the anti-nausea Zofran, but that causes constipation - which causes nausea after the pill wears off. I'm going to double up on the Miralax to prevent the constipation.

Each person feels somewhat differently. I hope things go easy for you. Switching to a Wednesday chemo day might turn out to be a good idea.

Good luck,
Sally

Thank you for that information. I too was prescribed Zofran for nausea - well the generic - i already take 1/2 dose of Miralax every morning to keep constipation away as I have a colostomy bag still, reversal has to wait until chemo is complete.

Im hesitant to switch to chemo on Wednesday bcuz i do want to enjoy my weekends so we will see where my ill feelings come into play, im truly praying for no sickness. I generally have a tough stomach so hoping the nausea stays at bay. I was thinking however to take the Zofran beginning Thursday morning so to keep ahead of any that might creep in. The nurse practitioner, my oncologist was still out on vacation this week, but anyhow the nurse said i could even take half a Zofran.

I had no idea they apply this other med to your arm on day of disconnect, i cant remembered now the name of it but i see commercials quite a bit. This just never stops it seems. Ughh!

Thanks for listening and thanks for sharing your thoughts,
Kathie

I felt fine while hooked up to the pump and on disconnect day. I started on Fridays and was unhooked Sunday afternoons. I would start to feel like I was in a weird fog on Monday. I had trouble with fatigue, I was also working full time. I could barely stay awake until 7pm and would sleep until 6:30. Then about Wednesday I would start to feel better and by Friday I was back to normal then would have a normal week until the next chemo cycle. For me it was easier the farther I went. I did 12 full cycles with Oxy. I didn’t get neuropathy until 11/12 in my hands and later feet but I have regained alot and my feet only bother me when I run, Im training for a half. I hope it goes smoothly for you.
