Stivarga

Postby Wendyr » Tue Jun 05, 2018 7:58 pm

I was taken off stivarga last Thursday because my live levels wheee to high. I am stage 4 colon cancer with timer in pelvic are. Onc is telling me I have one more choice witch will be the 5fu pump. After that then they will look for trials. How do you know that if you do a trail it’s not just a placebo?

My oncology practice states that any trials should include standard of care plus the thing being tried, no placebo-only situations. I'd ask yours.

According to what I've read, Stivarga is only approved for use AFTER treatment with other chemo regimens. You didn't have folfox or folfiri previously? I thought those were the standard first-line treatments. What did you have?
