After DH had his port in, colonoscopy and endoscopy. The top looked great a 4 and 5 mm polyps were found as well as " an infiltrative non-obstructing large mass" at the splenic flexure. Partially circumferential measuring 4cm in length.

StageIV with "innumerable" liver mets. A second opinion on the way from Cleveland Clinic from a colon specialist having helped write the NCCN. Anyone have hopeful words or similar issues?

I've read your previous post's and see I have alot in common with your husband. I'm also stage IV crc with liver mets, and a diesel mechanic. I was diagnosed in Nov 2017 and was told then I was unresectable with having 17 mets involving all lobes. Fortunately I live in the phoenix area and got a second opinion and started treatment at Mayo clinic , although my oncologist at Mayo shared the unresectable opinion, I met with a liver surgeon with the transplant team at Mayo and was told he saw potential for a 2 stage hepatectomy with a portal vein embolization in between surgeries. I started FOLFOX with avastin and had a very good response so that got me to my first surgery April the 24th 2018 where he resected 2 tumors from the left side of my liver. Then the embolization on the 27th of April. So now I'm pretty much growing a liver to get to the second surgery. You're definitely on the right track with the second opinion. I'm still in the beginning of this fight but I'm feeling much better about it now than at the start. So there's always hope just keep going forward.

Hi ,
My mum went straight to chemo . Six cycles later her large liver mets were no longer showing on her scan . Some people respond really well to treatment.
Seems such a long time ago now . Keep supporting him and I wish you all the very best as you face this together .
Take care,
Stu
