Disney Movie Coco

Postby Rikimaroo » Sat May 26, 2018 10:00 am

Just makes me cry thinking of my two daughters and son and wonder where I will be in the future. Staying strong but emotions come out when you least expect.

Doing chemo another six rounds has been really hard.

I just finished my first round. Even though it’s for preventative I wish I did not have too do.

Hopefully you will be right here with your daughters and son in the future. It is odd how movies or music can get us emotional. I can completely understand that feeling while watching Coco which is a wonderful movie. You will get through these chemo sessions. Stay strong and keep coming back here to the board for support!

I haven’t seen Coco but do you know the Howls moving castle of Miyazaki? We saw it with the kids (they are 8 and 11) and there is this girl who suddely becomes really old because of a witch, so I told them: that’s me after chemoradiation and surgery (they also removed my uterus and ovaries). But then she wakes up the day after and decides to travel to find someone who can help her and she is happy that she can still walk and take care of others. So I thought I want to do like her :D

My DH was recently diagnosed. I am right there with you I am a big Disney mom but I find the movies to be the enemy right now as they are all missing 1 or both parents. Thinking of the Coco song makes my eyes sting some. I've also turned to music in the past as a outlet for me but even the radio is the enemy I'm afraid of why certain songs come at certain times being "signs".
I continue my prayer every day "Lord, thank you for another day with my husband. Another day with his children who love and need him endlessly. My husband isn't going anywhere because we are going to fight this together"
Having the forums positivity has helped immensly versus googling nightmares on my own.
