Your surgeon should be able to give you some idea as to what they found.

He did say he is cautiously optimistic but there have been enough exceptions to the rule that he won't say until after the pathology comes back. They did not do a frozen section during surgery.

New info: This is not from the surgical biopsy but the CT scan am I right to be concerned?
The ct scan said there was an indeterminate spot on the liver that measured 4 mm. It could only be seen and measured on the axial view.

The surgeon did not mention this and said he was hopeful the biopsy at surgery would show no further problem.

I think my husband should request another CT in the future to make sure it's not growing or anything else that would not be good. What do you more experienced people think?
