New worried member...

Postby UnikornBlood » Sun May 20, 2018 12:13 am

I truly hope I do not offend anyone because I am not “official”. This is my story of how I am not but might be part of the “club no one wants to be a part of”

I am 27 years old
Female

It all started April 1st 2018 I noticed I was extremely tired, tired to the point where I practically went to bed all day long for two days straight. Typically I don’t even take naps, I go to sleep wake up don’t go to sleep until it’s night time again. So this is weird, and I felt that there was something on happening, but I thought maybe I was extremely tired. I figured work had catches up to me.
I was so tired I didn’t go to work which is unheard for me. After those two first days that first week of April I had absolutely no appetite, I thought this was extremely weird because I’ve always had a healthy appetite. I would have to force myself to eat, so I would munch on carrots, veggies, fruits to keep myself going. I knew I had to eat something and that’s what my stomach allowed. My lunch changed from a good healthy lunch to some unsalted crackers, some fruits etc. OK weird, maybe I have a bug or something. Maybe I’ll start coughing in a couple days start sneezing etc. no we trust and my appetite came back not the same but a lot better than the first week. Now throughout this process I had become constipated. In my 27 years I had been constipated once and I pooped at least twice a day. And now it was a struggle to poop maybe once a day but typically it would be once every other day, and when it was too difficult to push my body would alternate with diarrhea .
I was really confused about the whole thing, I started doing a journal keeping track of every day. Then I noticed cramping, abdominal pain and I got my period for a week and that distracted me from knowing the difference between cramps and the pain I had earlier. I was tired all the time, slept more, felt exhausted during my period since I felt like it was amplified with what been going on before. I decided to get health insurance, and it would kick in the 1sr of May.
I made an appointment for constipation, I told the doctor that I had cosntipation and diarrhea and she told me to eat more fiber.... you know when there’s something off so I knew this isn’t what I needed so I demanded blood work. She complied, I did it that day. I got my results within a couple days and I found out I’m anemic. First time I have been diagnosed with that but I wondered if everything is connected.
I have a lot of symptoms:
Constipation
Diarrhea
Pain
Narrow skinny poops
Tired
But I HAVE NEVER SEEN BLOOD IN MY STOOL.

It is now May 20th I have no insurance since the one I had was limited and would not conver anything other than basic stuff like allergies and the flu.

What do y’all think.

Only update now is everything is the same just I’ve had a lot of pain passing stool lately - like needles poking my butt when it first starts to come out, can’t poop it all I never feel like I clear it all out.

Please help
I don’t know what else to do and all I have been doing is praying and I’m still waiting for some type of sign.

We are not your doctors.

Follow up with your doctor or get a referral to a GIT specialist,
and get some answers to your questions.

We WILL help to support you along your Journey ... BUTT
you do not have a diagnosis so far, only some concerns which need to be addressed.

Find a doctor who WILL follow up and get you an answer.

Best wishes

Like CRguy said, I think you need to see a GI specialist in order to get a proper diagnosis.

There is quite an overlap of symptoms between colon cancer and other types of bowel disorder. You need to have a professional examination in order to isolate the cause and to come up with a proper diagnosis.

Hi UnikornBlood,
Please do not '..play the waiting game..' leave that for those who enjoy being sick and like to share symptoms with the world............. I must humbly confess I was like that for a while and it is the pits......... I have an '..irritable bowel..' so know what that scenario is like!?
So please use your wisdom to hunt down a specialist you can trust and you will become free of those things you do not have. Which itself is great.
You are in my prayers. :D

Cannot agree more with the others. There are too many of us who have been dismissed by doctors because we are "too young for cancer" or some other excuse. If cost is an issue, look into local programs that may help with a colonoscopy, talk to their finance, DO SOMETHING. Do not wait.
