3 years later, still here

Just wanted to say that my 3 yr anniversary is around the corner and I am still here and doing ok. I just wanted to check in because survivors' stories kept me alive 3 years ago. I have found out since that i have a faulty gene , a rare one, called chek2, which basically leaves me less protected against cancer than those without the mutation. I have to be monitored for life but, as far as the colorectal cancer from 3 years ago, things seem to be ok, at least for now. We all know that the next doctor's appointment could bring bad news, but at least for now, my life is somewhat back to normal.

It is encouraging for folk like myself plodding through (still within radiation treatment- then a very likely operation etc...) this 'adventure' in life.

Thanks lpas. I am glad you are doing well too. I am really celebrating, i am lucky to be among those who get to survive it, at least for a while. It's the luck of the draw.
