New Member Needs Support/Advice

Postby Geoman » Fri May 11, 2018 6:10 pm

Hi. I am a new member. See signature below. I got bad news today. Mets on lungs-2mm to 7mm. Too many to remove surgically.

Surgical oncologist immediately brought up chemo. Did not discuss any other treatment options. Will be discussing with tumor board on plan but expects chemo indefinitely. Chemo was rough on me- blood work always good but I felt like death warmed over on most days. However oncologist was excited at how well cancer reacted- debated performing the liver resection.

I am looking for any support/advice on what to do. I know this is a broad question but I really don’t know what to ask.

Can chemo be effective in lungs? Are there other options out there that can treat lung metastisis?

Please respond with anything you can offer.

Thank you.

Hi ,
Welcome to the forum . You might want to ask for a review from a radiologist. If you look further down the board you will see an update by another member who used laser treatment . It is available in Europe and if that’s an option for you , You might like to find out more about it .
Take special care,

Hi Geoman,

Welcome and sorry to read about your bad news. I had my scan today but won't get results until Monday which is just fine with me. I want to enjoy Mother's Day just in case.

I don't have any information about lung mets to share but wanted to wish you well. Have you gone for a second opinion yet?

All the best,

Shana

Thank you Shana

I am trying to research options. I have sent a pm to a member to inquire about laser surgery. I am going to meet with radioncologist for his opinion.
