Teri's TIL trial at NCI

Postby teri3 » Tue May 08, 2018 6:47 pm

Hey gang! I had VATS today at NCI to harvest TIL cells. The surgery went very well. They took my chest tube out at 3:30 :) I've been up and walking around feeling pretty good .....as the nurse said its probably the drugs LOL.
Friday I scheduled for apheresis, I'll let you know how that goes.
Now starts the waiting game to see if they can get anything to grow...wish me luck :) I'll try to keep you all updated.

This is terrific news Teri. Grow cells grow. I hope they are highly reactive cells that wipe out all of the cancer cells. GO Lymphocytes!

I've felt pretty good today post surgery. I hit a bit of a hick up last night I had to wear a monitor because of sleep apnea and my bloodox kept going below 85. But they put me on oxygen and I've been good but a little tired today. Apheresis Friday. Anyone else have apheresis? They say I can go home afterwards but it's a 9 hour drive. Does it make you tired or anything? Maybe drive 4 hours Friday then the rest Saturday? Any suggestions.
