My CEA has been tested with a new type of machine.

Postby boswind » Wed Apr 11, 2018 4:48 pm

Two months ago Dana-Farber Cancer Institute started using a new type and more sensitive machine to test CEA. It’s normal range is 0-3.7 for non smokers. To make a new baseline, two months ago I was tested with both old and new machines. The numbers were:
10.7 with the old machine
28.8 with the new machine.

Last week my CEA with new machine was 21.1. But I have no idea about its equivalent old number; they are no longer using the old machine.

I appreciate your comments

Do you have the name/manufacturer/model iof the new machine? Usually this kind of information is found in a footnote in the report.
