Surviving Stage IV Colon Cancer after Failed Surgery/Chemo/Radiation

Postby cscottandcarly » Thu Mar 29, 2018 7:27 pm

I joined this site around June 2015, just as my 42 year old husband's colon cancer was metastasizing to his liver. At the end of May, a baseball-sized adenocarcinoma was removed, along with 24 lymph nodes (11- cancerous) and in June, we impatiently were awaiting chemo to commence. Hoping we could stop this monster before is spread elsewhere in his body.

July 2015, after one round of FOLFOX, our fear was realized and Scott's liver was covered almost completely with cancer. The chemo was halted immediately because of negative neurotoxic effects Scott suffered from during treatment.

Scott was referred to a genetic cancer specialist, but in the meantime, we frantically searched for options that we could do right away. In my research, I read about cannabis oil and mistletoe extract.

Cannabis oil was something I knew a bit about because Scott was using it to successfully treat his epilepsy. So he started THC Oil on August 1, 2015. Within 24 days Scott's liver tumors were reduced in half. Over the next months, every scan showed fewer and smaller tumors. He now has none, and additionally he has no polyps in his colon, in spite if having a genetic predisposition to cancerous polyps, hence his early cancer battle.

The story doesn't end there, tho. In spite of the reduction and eventual total regression of the liver metastases, the cancer continued to spread elsewhere. At the end of October 2015, Scott began Xeloda. A scan at the end of December revealed the spreading had accelerated and now Scott's chest, abdomen and pelvic region were filled with cancer, effecting his legs to his neck. In January 2016, the cancer had grown to a football-size mass between his kidneys, his lower vena cava and his heart were encased in cancer. Of course, the chemo was stopped.

We were told the cancer was incurable and terminal (told again, btw, since this was the diagnosis/prognosis after the liver metastases) and we were told that the only real option was palliative radiation to shrink the largest mass. No surgery could help and Scott did not handle chemo well nor did the treatments seem effective. Although, the liver cancer continued to regress, Scott's body was weakening everyday with rapid weightloss and unbearable pain.

So, we spent February into March undergoing 18 rounds of radiation. Scott continued to weaken daily and the cancer grew. At the end of the regimen, and after the month of post-radiation waiting, we had the scan to assess its palliative success. The tumor had decreased by one centimeter. Disappointment and desperation, but now his continued suffering made sense. The radiation wasn't working.

Scott was now 43 years old. 6'1" 112 lbs and filled with cancer. A huge growth was now visible on his neck and his right leg was swelling because of the tumor cutting off of the blood flow to his lower extremities.

During this time, I'd been researching an article about Johns Hopkins studying mistletoe extract as a potential cure for colon cancer.

Early in 2016, I discovered Beleivebig.org and this site led us to Dr. Blanning in Denver. On April 1, 2016, we got out first delivery of mistletoe extract and by May 24th, my husband's cancer had almost shrunk in half. As soon as he started this treatment he came back to life. It was miraculous.

Now, just few weeks ago, Scott has gotten his first report showing his body to be cancer-free. He's got one swollen lymph node, but otherwise after almost 2 full years on mistletoe extract and 2 1/2 on THC/CBD Cannabis Oil, my husband is beating this horrible cancer.

People keep insisting that we spread the word on Scott's battle and successes, so we are posting this with the hope that this story helps others. Of course we know that this is just the story so far, but it's real. This really happened.

I hope it helps someone. Good luck and don't ever give up.

Wow, what a story.
Congrats!
I know from studies that cbd and chemo could kill the cancer, but this story is exceptional.
55 year at the time of diagnosis, male
Diagnosed with T1,T2 N0 M0 rectal cancer
Total neoadjuvant therapy or TNT (chemoradiation followed by systemic chemotherapy)
Negative since Feb. '17
No surgery
Watch&Wait approach 8)
I don’t come much to the forum , so if this is not updated it means I remain negative!
Wish good luck to all!

Hello! Wow... that is a story that seems too good to be true! Congratulations on finding a miracle.
Tell us please, what form/strength and frequency of the mistletoe extract was used?

Hmmm, although CBD and mistletoe have a history as anti cancer property containing substances, I would recommend doing your own research and finding legitimate sources. I will be trying CBD as an overall health supplement soon. Having said that, for me believebig.org doesn’t pass the test. I looked around online and was left a bit suspicious. Please beware of the many people who try to take advantage of cancer sufferers.

I am glad this info might help. And Ipromise we're not here to take advantage. I'm just telling what happened for us. Trust me, when we were first facing the stage iv colon cancer diagnosis, all words of hope would have helped me.

And we have hope now. In fact, when Scott first got diagnosed, I posted on cancercompass asking for help. And on this site I have lots of info I posted as things were happening.
But a quick synopsis--

So Scott used 1 gram a day of THC Oil for almost a year.

He used 1/3 gram per day of CBD Oil.

I made suppositories with the Cannabis Oils and coconut oil and Scott took them both rectally and swallowing them. This was to get to the afferent and efferent vessels of the lymph system.

Scott started on 1mg of mistletoe and as the reactions decreased we increased his dosage. Now I inject 100mg 3x week and we adjust this as needed.

Believebig.org is not a scam. It's information. Real info, in that we found a real doctor who gave us real information. He didn't make us any promise at all about what results we'd see.

Cannabis and mistletoe are not proven, but he's alive and his cancer is almost gone. These options were appealing since the standard chemo options offered such an abysmal survival rate. And he was out of choices. So it was easier for us, maybe. Scott spent the first year trying standard treatments, so we totally understand the fear, hesitation and desperation leading decision-making.

I just need to let people know about this, because its a truth. Without these treatments, Scott would be dead. And it is a truth that the standard treatments didn't work and they caused him the most unbearable suffering. And its the truth that he would have died if we didn't find mistletoe.

It is true that we put him on a gram per day of THC Oil and CBD Cannabis Oil and subcutaneous mistletoe injections. And he's alive and not sicker. And we have hope, healthy happy hope.

Hi,

My sister is suffering from Colorectal stage 4 cancer which has spread to her L4/L5 and lungs helium. We did two chemo and trial at MD Anderson which all failed. She is taking no cancer drugs right now. I have heard about mistletoe therapy and its benefits.

My sister is based out of Austin, Tx. Can you please help me with the process or means by which I can arrange mistletoe shots for her in Austin.

Regards,
Satya

Disclaimer: I know nothing about the BelieveBig organization, nor do I claim to know anything about mistletoe or THC/CBD oil.

But here is what I do know. When my journey began about 18 months ago I met a couple while in the hospital for my colon resection who were there visiting the man's mother who was recently diagnosed with cancer. We started talking and found out that his brother/sister (I'm using both terms to protect the identity of the person) was just recently diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and offered to give me his/her name and e-mail address so I could contact them to discuss further treatment options because he/she had discovered this place called BelieveBig that was helping him/her. He/she was active in fundraising, etc. - in fact he/she still has a video testimonial posted on their website. So while I was in the hospital recovering, my wife contacted this person both via e-mail and phone and had quite a few conversations. This person was not doing chemo...only natural type stuff (which I believe included mistletoe since they were pushing me in that direction). When I decided on my treatment plan with MSK, my wife mentioned it to him/her and they were trying hard to persuade me to not do chemo. In fact, after I made it clear that my plan was surgery, chemo, HAI pump and anything else Dr. Kemeny wanted me to do he/she stopped communicating with us.

Fast forward to about 2 months ago. We get an e-mail asking about how I'm doing. My wife tells him/her I went from stage 4 to currently cancer free and I'm doing very well. He/she wants to know if I'd be willing to talk to him/her about my treatment plan as their cancer is now stage 4 and he/she is not doing well at all (significant spread). So I filled them in on everything I've gone through to date and gave them contact info for MSK and my doctor. I e-mailed him/her about a month after that because I hadn't heard back and I still haven't. I sure hope they're okay.

Please don't think I'm bashing natural treatment options - I'm sure they have their place. But when a person is stage 3 or 4, I believe chemo is an absolute necessity unless a miracle happens.

Perhaps the silver lining (admittedly, possibly the world's shittiest silver lining) in getting diagnosed at Stage IV is that it removed all temptation to consider alternative, unconventional treatments.

At Stage IV, there is no choosing between Option A (chemo/surgery) or Option B (anything else). There's only Option A.

Having said that, CBD/THC has been crucial for us in managing side effects. I'm just not counting on any alleged curative properties. Thankful enough that it's done such a good job with what we need it to do.

When I first was diagnosed, I went off Facebook. I did not want people telling me chemo is poison. I did not want to hear I should go to India, stand on my head and drink yak milk, I did not want to hear I should stop eating all sugars and just drink pureed vegetable juice! I am still off Facebook. One of my sisters tried all the alternative therapies including Vitamin C injection, air chamber, special lights and Optiva instead of chemo. Sadly, she died in June. We both had the same DR. I miss her everyday. Who is to know if chemo would have helped, she was pretty far along when diagnosed. So maybe she felt like she had nothing to lose. She was given 2-4 months to live. Instead she lived almost 2 years, but bed ridden the last 4. They took some family vacations. Her youngest graduated from high school. But my DR said my best hope was chemo, so that is what I did.
