Rectal pressuer

Postby Jillianc519 » Wed Mar 28, 2018 6:51 pm

Hello everyone
I’m new to the board today. Three weeks ago I had a resection due to small bowel obstruction. I’m a very healthy 38 year old female. They said this was due to adhesions from my last csection/hysterectomy.
Everything has been going ok but I’m starting to feel some rectal pressure when I sit. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thank you in advance
J

My understanding is that this is a Colorectal Cancer board and it doesn't seem like you had cancer. If I'm wrong, then I'm sure that someone will correct me.

My understanding is that this is COLON TALK, and Jillian c519 has had a resection due to a bowel obstruction. Seems like a colon issue to me.

We may need more info to help. How long ago did you have the resection? Have you been eating normally? Did your Drs discuss the possibility of more adhesions forming from the resection? Have you discussed this with your surgeon or general care physician? Any more info you can add?

Anyway welcome to COLON TALK Jillianc519. Most of us here have had colon or rectal cancer or have been a caretaker to someone who did or does. However, lots of us have had obstructions and related issues. Hoping someone can be of assistance to you.

Best Wishes,

Small bowel obstruction (SBO)

Postby O Stoma Mia » Thu Mar 29, 2018 12:58 am

Although technically speaking this is a message board for colorectal cancer, there have been many past discussions here about SBOs, adhesions, and related topics, like the following thread. And as peanut_8 said, we need a bit more information before we can know how to proceed from here. Some patients here initially had SBOs and then later found out that they also had colorectal cancer.

I’m sorry. I didn’t realize this was colorectal Vance board. I had just searched for help and this board popped up.
I had surgery three weeks ago and it was due to adhesions.
I’m sorry. I will find a new board.

As peanut_8 has said, many of us here have had to deal with adhesions. You might be able to get some tips on avoiding future small bowel obstructions by reading some of MissMolly's posts on the topic of adhesions:

You are wrong. A person that comes here for any colon related issues should be given the courtesy of a response and a redirect to a another forum if need be. Period.
