LOOKING FOR SURGEON IN BUFFALO

Postby dino#girl$green » Mon Mar 26, 2018 3:33 pm

Hello!

I'm a colon cancer survivor (19 years), and now my 86-year-old mom has been diagnosed with recto-sigmoid cancer.
Can anyone recommend a colon surgeon in Buffalo, New York?
Thank you! :D

Does it make sense for her to go to Cleveland?
Cleveland has a better reputation.
58 yo male at diagnosis: T1bN0M0, 0/15 nodes, low grade/moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma
03/2016 colonoscopy: 2 small polyps removed in left colon; CEA = 1.3
04/2016 colonoscopy: caecum sessile 3.5 cm polyp piecemeal removed with kind of clear margins
05/2016 "prophylactic" laparoscopic right hemicolectomy - bleeding, leak, infection
06/2017 CT scan, colonoscopy OK; CEA = 1.6
A lot of funny stuff discovered by CT scans in liver, kidney, lungs, arteries, gallbladder, lymph node, pancreas

I would think that Roswell Memorial Hospital would have some decent surgeons
Resection of splenic flexure 7/24/13
T3N2BM0, Stage 3c,12/29 nodes
Folfox x12 9/13-3/14
CT scan 4/14, enlarged spleen, otherwise clear
CT 4/15, spleen WNL.
6/17 3 cm benign polyp at ileocecal valve, awaiting removal
