Colonoscopy Tomorrow

Postby Aqx99 » Tue Mar 06, 2018 8:36 pm

Tomorrow will be my first colonoscopy since diagnosis. I can't believe it has been a year already. The prep is very interesting with my new plumbing. I'm just glad I buy the economy size packages of diapers. My pelvic physical therapist warned me that my system will probably be out of whack for about three days after this prep. Needless to say, I am extremely nervous about this colonoscopy. I'm hoping to be the fifth, and final, member of my immediate family to get a clear scope. My dad went a couple of months ago, one brother went before Christmas, my mom had hers on the 1st and my other brother went today.

Good luck! I had my first after diagnosis/treatment/etc. in Jan. It was not clear (polyp removed), but that is allright with me because it still did what it was supposed to do- get rid of something that could become cancer! Preventative measure = good outcome.

It was clear! No polyps and no cancer. He took a picture of my anastomosis and it looks really good. Next one in three years.

Good news. I remember my first after diagnosis. I was in a twilight state and able to watch the whole thing and even asked a couple questions. That was kind of interesting. The two before I was always totally out.
