Stomach or colon cancer.

Postby JT61 » Sun Feb 25, 2018 5:58 pm

Hello everyone

I'm new here. I have a feeling I might have stomach or colon cancer and very scared. I already scheduled my first appointment with a gastroenterologist in 2 more weeks. I'm 30 years old and hoping to request a colonoscopy and endoscopy but I'm afraid the doctor will not order the exams for me due to my age and have no family history.

I have all the symptoms that fit colon cancer, which is scary and I'd love to know if there is any other disease that could have the same symptoms?

. I always have constipation in my whole life. Sometimes I would get diarrhea if I eat bad food or spicy food.
. I had blood on toilet paper whenever I passed hard stool. I think it's a hemorrhoids.
. Over a year ago, after passing normal stool (no straining). I looked in the toilet, there was a lot of bright red blood on the stool and in the water. (A Lott of blood). I got freaked out but let it go because I thought it might be the hemorrhoids. It was the only time I had that much blood in my toilet and I don't have it ever since.
. Exactly a year ago, I started to feel fatigue all the time. I only want to lay down on my bed. Holding my baby for a few minutes give me shortness of breath. I feel dizzy and light headed everyday. My blood pressure was very low sometimes go under 60. Doctor sent me to heart -specialists but found nothing wrong.
. A few months ago, I had a change in bowel movement. I would have diarhea for 4 days. Then 3,4 days no movement. Follow by cosntipation with pellet size stools. Sometimes I have pellet stools then mushy stool at the same time. I have never had mushy stool and never had pellet stools before in my life. Before when I had constipation my stool was big and hard. Also now, every time after I go, I always have a feeling of not emptying my bowel.
. I have stomach cramps everyday (middle above belly button most of the time, and sometimes the whole right side) before and after meals. My stomach and colons (right lower abdomen) are making gurgling noises all day all the time and very loud. I can feel a lump/mass, I think it's the cecum and ascending colon on the right side. The mass comes and go but it is always at the same location. it almost feel like a baby kicking or rolling in the stomach.
. I went to doctor and she ordered blood test. Turned out I have anemia, low red cells count, low iron in blood.
. I had abdominal and pelvic ultrasound: i have a cyst in my left ovary (my ovary is bigger then others, maybe due to the cyst),
My edomitrium is much thicker than normal (12mm comparing to 8mm in normal person), something looks like a tumor in the uterus but not clear and need further testing.
. I had abdomen x ray. Doctor said everything looks good except I have lots of stool inside.
. I recently ordered FIT test online and I did it at home and found no blood in my stool.

I'm sorry for the long post but I'm hoping to get an answers regarding my symptoms. Which disorders would causes similar symptoms to mine?

Thank you everyone for reading.

Your anemia explains your low blood pressure, fatigue and possibly shortness of breath. As far as your other concerns, you could check in with a gastroenterologist. No one here could possibly tell you what, if anything, is wrong with you. Nor would it be possible to go over everything that might explain your symptoms. It's good your occult blood test was negative, and I think you said you've had constipation your whole life---sounds like you still do. Go to a doc and get the evaluation you need and deserve.

Good luck to you.

Thank you for your reply.

I was able to see the specialist today and schedule for endoscopy/colonoscopy next week.

I have a few questions hoping you can help me answer

. Should I do my colonoscopy at the hospital or at endoscopy center? Mine is going to be at a endoscopy center but I'm thinking it might be Aret to have it done inside the hospital?

. My prep paper says I need to drink 32oz + 64oz of water / miralax. But I remember my moms friend only had to drink 2 small bottles of solution for her prep and it was very easy to drink. Do you know what that might call so I can request it?

Thank you so much

I've had all my scopes done at an endoscopy center, even when I was diagnosed. The only time I had something done inside the hospital was after I diagnosed, I needed a few procedures done for staging purposes, not possible at an endoscopy center. They are just as good as the hospital. My surgeon always does my scopes at these centers.

I'm not sure what your mom's friend was drinking. I've done many scopes with Miralax. Something tells me, her friend had some other procedure. My advice, you follow the directions of the prep TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITY!! It is not fun, butt if you are not TOTALLY cleaned out, some issues may be missed. You want to be COMPLETELY clean to get a true diagnoses if anything is going on.

The only other piece of advice, start eating soft foods (eggs, etc) the day or two prior to fasting and taking the Miralax. Is there any food that loosen you up like maybe spinach?

Good luck,
