Xeloda "withdrawal" symptoms?

Has anyone else experienced itching after completing Xeloda? I'm 10 days after my last dose and my hands and feet have been so itchy. I was wondering if I was allergic to Udderly Smooth cream all of a sudden, but I seem to get the itching even without it. Although the cream seems to exacerbate it. I've just taken an oral antihistamine because it is so bothersome.

Thanks for sharing your experiences!

Not sure where you live. Any chance you are dealing with dry skin. Here in Arizona, dry skin is the norm this time of year, and dry skin is a big part of "itchy" problem. Maybe just one possibility this time of the year to consider

Bed Bath and beyond "Miracle hand Repair" in my go to.

I finished Xeloda monotherapy is June... yes, dry skin and I still get episodes over 6 months out. Try using Eucerin for sensitive skin.

Xeloda can cause "hand & foot" syndrome.

That's what I was going to say at only ten days out from last taking it. Mine went away so hopefully yours will too!

I've had hand foot syndrome since cycle 2. I've been well moisturized with Udderly Smooth. What's weird is the itching started AFTER my last dose and despite the cream. Sometimes the cream seems to make it worse, and I've considered the possibility of a developing allergy to the cream. My HFS symptoms of redness, skin thickening and peeling have all gotten better. I think it is unusual to develop a different symptom related to HFS only at the end, unless it's a cumulative effect I am only experiencing after 8 cycles.

Thanks for the feedback.

You just might be developing an allergy to it. May want to try something different

I did not think of this last night, butt when I get out of the shower I use Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream (vs lotion). Intense moisture for dry, sensitive skin. Fragrance free. I get mine at Costco.

Hope it gets better for you,

Lee

Yes I am constantly moisturizing. It's like with the oxi my neuropathy didn't really start until 2 months after I finished treatments. Weird.

I've read that a cream with urea helps. Maybe the Udderly Smooth isn't getting to the skin layer underneath the very top - that seems like it could cause itching. Urea helps get rid of that very top super dry layer.

I did not have skin issues after Neo-Adjuvant with Xeloda but have them with Adjuvant. The cold winter has had an effect on my skin as well. I often wear Nitrile Gloves to prevent moisture loss from all of the washing and to help heal skin cracks. I've also had skin discoloration on the backs of my fingers and little brown splotches on my skin.
