I've read recently the post from Axq99 after reversal surgery and wanted to chime in.
Everyone is different in his or her physiology, and that means of course that everyone experiences pain differently. Surgeons use similar techniques, but there aren't two surgeries which are exactly the same.
So how do you plan to be pain free after a surgery, without the risk of taking heavy medication which can cause nausea or constipation or... etc. But steel being able to be comfortable and have an optimal recovery?
Please speak with an anesthesist about the possibility of an epidural catheter.
An Epidural Catheter is a locoreginal anesthesy that will allow to be pain free in the abdominal area and still be able to walk around and move. You can have it continuously up until a week.
It made all the difference in the world to me. I had a low dosage and experience low pain when moving, but still. On the first day after the surgery I was up and moving and didn't need any extra pain medication during my stay or after that at all (only for the only time I stop my epidural catheter because I though I didn't need any more ).
Just a thought!
Love,
Ana
