I don't want to jinx myself, but I have started having one bowel movement a day. They are well formed and a large volume. I never thought I would get to this point, especially so soon after my reversal.

That’s really fantastic! Nice to hear that LARS is not the rule.

Glad to hear it. Hope to be there one of these days.

To those facing (should be IMO looking forward to) surgery - I was reversed last September. Bowel function is great. No issues day-to-day. Live, work and play without any concern about bathrooms. A lot of folks turn out well.

Just a question about water quality testing. Do you test for nitrogen and pesticide residues in your water treatment plant? Is there a problem with groundwater contamination where you live?

... The federal drinking water standard for nitrate is 10 parts per million (ppm). Above this level, nitrate can have negative effects on human health....

That is awesome you guys are doing so well. I do daily enemas which has provided me with a normal life. Tried for 15 months had some good days where I thought I was fine but just too many days of clustering. The 30 minutes in the bathroom doing the enema is so much better. Not everyone gets LARS and there are such varying degrees, that we all just have to figure out what works for us. Continued success to both of you. Glad to hear of your success.

The chemists for my water system test for those and other contaminants. We are always well below the limit. I operate the plant, which means my tests are limited to the actual water treatment process within the plant. I test for chlorine residual, pH, turbidity, fluoride, taste & odor, filterability, carbon dioxide, hardness and alkalinity at every stage of the process. I also do bacteriology testing on the water within the plant. We are a surface water plant, which means we pull from the nearby river, not from well dug in to the ground water. Our chemists test the river water as well, so we know what we are dealing with when it enters our plant.
