another anniversary

Postby Ron50 » Sun Jan 21, 2018 4:05 pm

Another year ,still cancer free. My cancer was removed on this day in 1998. I have survived cancer free for twenty years. I have been very fortunate to get this far and there has been a lot of collateral damage along the way. I spent the second day of this year in hospital after collapsing at home with a severe vertigo attack. They treated me for dehydration . They did a couple of ecgs and have now dxed me with atrial fib. I am now on warfarin. I still take cyclosporine twice a day for nephrotic syndrome of the kidneys. I have moderate auto immune hepatitis and serongative poly arthritis. Since cancer I have had acute pancreatitis and lost my gallbladder. Survival has not been easy. I am now 67 and still working four days a week. Best wishes to all. Ron.

Congratulations on a major anniversary. You have always been an inspiration to me when I was just a few years out from my surgery. If you could, can you update your anniversary on this thread. "For stage III's: NED for how long now?"

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10574&hilit=Ned+how+long+stage+iii

It really could help some people who are just starting this journey.

Again congratulations,

You are a true warrior and survivor, Ron. It's always good to be reminded that sometimes cancer doesn't win, and that there is hope. Life after chemo is hard, but it's life. Here's to the next 20 years for all of us.

Cheers,
Tracy
