Surgery done yesterday, doc said she got 70/80% percent of tumour out. Head feels pressure, especially when I cough, or have flatulence. On oxycontin and increased steroids to reduce inflammation. For mri and she said I will be seen by radio oncology consultant to kill rest of tumour still on temporal lobe. Left ear deaf and feeling very tired. Thanks for all support

Prayers for a smooth recovery.

Do they think the deafness is permanent or temporary?

Well details becoming clearer now. My brain tumour is not a colon met but a primary glibistoma multiforme grade 4. It's not curable but I will be having radiation and chemotherapy and the great doc treating me say I may last 12 to 36 months. I am 52 years old, have my beautiful wife and four wonderful adult kids and one 3 year old grand child, he is such a happy curious funny loving child. Thanks for all the support, there are so many special people on this forum, it is a privilege to be part of it. Hope your treatment goes well Adele.

Very sorry to hear mate. One of my friends is a few months ahead of you and if it’s any consolation he said the chemo is very tolerable.

Rest up, heal, and get stuck into zapping/poisoning the bastard!

Thanks Geoff,
Hope things go as well as possible for your mate.
Our son lived in Melbourne for a few years and we spent 3 weeks there in 2013, we were really delighted the way our sons were looked after by your country men and women.

People in this forum are just so good, such lovely supportive messages despite their own problems.
Ha Adele you have a real celtic tone in your way of talking. I hope things are working out for you. I was in the Richmond Unit in Beaumont hospital for 1 week, there was 22 patients all with neurological problems and some like me with malignant tumours. It was very moving meeting a lot of the patients. Some were very young and others were middle aged. There were several emigrants, Russian, Lithuanian and Estonian. Also a good number of the staff were not Irish, there were Asian, Indian, Italian, Philipino and South African. All these cultures, and different fates were amazing in that everyone was just so nice to each other. I know I am rambling on but meeting all these people made me feel so good. There is so much distressing things on the news programmes all over the world, warfare and crime, it is just so reassuring when you meet and talk with kind individuals who are good to people no matter what.
