Enlarged Lymph Nodes on 6 Month CT

New member to the forum and am looking for some insight. I was diagnosed June of 2017 with a 5 cm tumor in my ascending colon followed by a right-hemi colectomy shortly after. The pathology staged it at 2B with no signs of spread to other organs or the 50 lymph node removed during surgery. No followup chemo was done. I was diagnosed due to severe fatigue which persisted for months post surgery. I received 5 IV iron infusions in October which seemed to rectify that issue but I have had some recent re-occurrences. I had a CT scan as part of my 6 month and was told that the scan revealed 2 enlarged lymph nodes near the surgical site. I have a PET scan schedule for next Monday.

How worried should I be?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

I think you have a decent chance this is not cancer. Lymph nodes can be enlarged for many other reasons. If they are cancer you say that they are local so still within the realm of treatment for a complete cure.
The PET scan should give you more information but try not to worry.

I had some prominent lymph nodes around my surgical sites for about 8 months following my HIPEC surgery. They were reactive, not cancerous.
