Hello to all of you heros! I have been here all day reading your stories. Wow is all I can say. I stand before all of you humbled by your bravery. So here goes my story. For three weeks I have had minor bloating, lots of tummy noises, abdominal, pain that comes and goes in all sections of my abdomin, weight loss, lots of gas, fat and skinny stools all in the same bm, no visible blood in stool (I think my eyes were playing trick on me once), loss of appetite (but when I do eat, I can eat a whole meal) anxiety and depression. My ab pains are worse for a little whil after a complete bm (don’t think I’m Constipated) I’m not sure which of these symptoms are cause by nervous and which ones are not. Dr google told me I was a goner. Negative Ct scan with and without contrast, blood count normal.....going see the gi doctor Wednesday. I haven slept in 3 weeks. I just needed to get this off my chest. My family has an excuse for all of my symptoms and brush them off so I don’t talk about it to anyone. My mom who is a np doesn’t seemed concerned in the least. Thanks for listening. Prayers to you all.

Hi :D

I Hope its just your anxiety and depression that play tricks with your stomach. Anxiety can be a real bitc*** and mess up your system, the same can be said with lack of sleep and depression. Its great getting this checked out, and I hope they find nothing wrong with you, so you can hopefully relax a bit. And if its nothing and your mental state still causes problems for your health, then it is no shame to talk to a professional about it.

Lots of hugs.

Does Crohn's Disease or IBS run in your family. Your symptoms could be cause by many things, cancer is just one possibility. Butt I don't think you have cancer especially since a CAT scan came back normal.

How old are you? Does colon cancer run in your family?

Try to avoid Dr. Google. A lot of information is wrong, or out of date. Hang around if you must do research.

Try not to worry, probably best to get it checked out.

good luck,

Lee

Well I’ve been putting it off but I decided to have a colonoscopy. It’s scheduled for March 8. My question is if they do find something it shouldn’t be too bad considering that my CT scan was normal or month ago right?Right now I have so many sensations going on in my body. Pain in the right and left side of my abdomen, burning sensation in my back and neck. Is it all in my head? I just want to escape out of my body for one day.

I think that there are several other things besides cancer, especially if scans are clear.

The worry can really get to you though. My sister has had major problems for about ten years and the doctors haven't been able to figure out what the problem(s) are though she's been through a ton of tests.

O Stoma Mia wrote:For your up-coming colonoscopy, here are some sources you can read in preparation. The most important point is to follow the prep instructions carefully in order to insure a "squeaky clean" colon that will allow the doctor to see all of the details clearly. If your problem is indeed in the rectum or colon, the doctor will be able to see what it is and take pictures of the affected area.
