Hi and welcome, sorry for the reason you are here.

Yes there are many stage IV folks who are beating this cancer today. Usually surgery is the best course for beating it. Where are her mets? What is her overall health? Has she seen an Onc yet? Is there a plan of action yet?

Sorry butt we need a bit more information to answer your questions betters.

Are you in the USA? Since she is dealing with a stage IV diagnoses, she should really get second opinion at major cancer hospitals or major cancer treatment centers.

Good luck,

Lee

I'm stage IV and it is inoperable at this point. I'm really hoping that chemo can get rid of all the cancer.

I hope someone does come along that can give more insight.

Sorry that you had to find us.

My understanding, chemo is a way to get to surgery, Sloan Kettering Memorial has put many people who were told surgery was off the table, to NEDville. Have you looked at 2nd opinions?

HIPEC would be my only option. I'm not sold on it. I have gotten a second opinion from a #7 rated colon cancer hospital and am keeping them in the loop as far as how my current treatment is going. The seeding on my omentum is/was quite a Lot. That is the only place the metastasis is.

If things change...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Okay, Now I understand, seeding in the omentum is a challenge. Butt know that some people have reached NED with the HIPEC procedure. Skifletcher is just one example. He checks in every few years. Have your looked in something like Keytruda?

IF I need something other than what is working as of now, I will certainly be looking at any and all options. :)

As long as there is life, there is hope. And there are advancements in medicine. However you should get clarification from you grandmother's physicians as signet ring cell (SRC) is a type of cancer histology and doesn't necessarily mean stage IV. Unless you are saying is both stage IV and has a signet ring cell type. SRC is very aggressive, but it also is known to respond well to chemotherapy. It creates a mucin that helps it spread. I researched somewhere that bromelain from pineapples is good at breaking down proteins.
I wish your grandmother and you well, and will be praying.
