Stage 3C

Wondering what percentage of your lymph nodes were positive. My mom was positive in 9 out of 22 lymph nodes that they checked when she had her colon resection/tumor removal. That seems like a really high percentage. I would love to hear from other 3Cers! Thank you in advance.

The staging is N2a at 4-7 and N2b at 7+. So it's high in relation to N2a but not too far from the start of N2b.

Mine was 8 out of 64.

When you use the Mayo Clinic nom... there's some word for calculator that they use that's eluding me right now (anyone?) -- it does make a difference when the tested number is larger. However, I have had some oncologists who feel it doesn't make that much of a difference when you know it's already spread to 8 or 9 or whatever.
In other words, I'm pretty sure 22 is a significant number (again, others on here know much, much more than I), so that they're confident to stage it. Like, maybe those 44 additional were not necessary in my case...

The word is nomogram:

Mayo Clinic Stage III colon cancer nomogram:

I feel great. I have growing nodules in my left long. We're scheduling surgery to remove 2 of them. The other 2 are too small. But....... I feel great

I had 12/17 LNs. Just finished 12 rounds of folfox and have a colonoscopy on May 30 then bloodwork. I feel great. I’m optimistic and I hear many stage 3s do well. Keep your chin up. There is a thread of stage 3 stories here. Find them! They help!

I had 12/17 positive and 12 rounds of chemo. I plan on sticking around a long time. I don’t care what stats say.
