Swollen lymph node in groin... almost 5 years NED

Postby cancerfighterswife » Mon Dec 18, 2017 11:56 pm

I haven’t posted in awhile and while this forum has given me a ton of answers... I can’t say I’m thrilled to be back! My husband was diagnosed in 2013 with stage 3b colon cancer. He has been cancer free for 4 1/2 years, just had his CEA done in October and it was lower than his test 6 months prior. He noticed tonight he has 1 single swollen lymph node in his groin. He went hiking yesterday and noticed his groin seemed sore tonight. He feels like he has a pulled muscle so I’m wondering if it could be that’s. He also works outside and has been wearing long underwear and has gotten about 5 or 6 ingrown hairs that look infected. Obviously we instantly assume the wordt. Just curious if anyone has experienced this. We will be calling his oncologist tomorrow, but trying to help him sleep a little bit tonight. Thanks for any help you
Can give!

I also had a swollen lymph node in my groin last year, after two weeks without it growing or shrinking I went to my doc. He felt if it was “free” moveable, and said if it’s free there is nothing to worry about. Annoying enough it disappeared a couple days later.

I hope it’s just caused my some minor irritation and will disappear soon enough :D

My 40 year old son without cancer found a huge node in his groin. Went to doc and they found a chigger nite from when he and wife went hiking.

Swollen groin nodes can be a thousand things that aren’t cancer. From bug bites to infected ingrown hairs, there are plenty of things that can make a node mad enough to swell.
