Hello,
We just found out that my dad's recent PET scan shows metastasis in one lymph node of his liver. This after a liver resection and lung wedge earlier this year.
The oncologist is talking to the surgeon, but he's already said that he doesn't think it's operable (or wouldn't be worth it, given the likelihood that it will just return elsewhere ).
What now? Has anyone experienced cancer spread to one liver lymph node like this? Everything I've found online about lymph node involvement makes me think the prognosis is pretty bleak, but I can't find this specific situation. I'm wondering how this type of situation is typically handled in terms of treatment options, so that I can try to mentally prepare myself and my family for what's ahead. For now they are talking about starting chemo right after Christmas.
Thanks.
