Freaked out.

Hi everyone. Fish again.

Hope your all doing well.

Well my 6 monthly scan was all good. Xray of lungs and ultrasound of abdomen. My next scan isn't until march/April. That will be my yearly scan.

Anyhow over the last couple of weeks I've noticed a discomfort that I think feels like a lump on my left side just under the rib cage at the back. It comes and goes but it's noticeable. This is the side I usually get alot of gurgling from. :(

CRA was normal at last scan.

Okay should I get an early CT scan. Or ultrasound on this area.

Anyone else have this issue or am I just freaking out. I must pay attention to my body and not ignore it. That has cost me dearly all ready.

Can u feel metastic tumors?

I feel your pain Fish, I have pain in my hip at the moment and my first thoughts are Mets. I think it’s the nature of the beast.

I’d go and see your GP first and get them to have a good feel around. If it comes and goes my bet is it isn’t a met.

If they do find something then they can refer you on the spot.

I’m sure all will be well

AAC

PS - I’ll be taking my own advice once I get back from working away from home and stress dies down. Strangely enough I had the pain before my trip to Hawaii, and barely noticed it while on hols, and lo and behold it’s back.

into the mood of Mele Kalikimaka? I'm tossing the traditional red/green/white
anglophile melburnian chrissie deccos and getting Pacific.........send me some
eye candy or else I'll stick another pin in the hip of the voodoo doll....

I have/had something similar a early 2016. Felt a hardened spot, left under rib cage. Walnut size. It came and went. Not really hard, but not soft either. Had it at the front.
Docs had a look (palpated) and were not worried. Scans and blood remain OK. I'm no longer nervous either and have forgotten about it.

It's still there, sometimes. My layman's guess is that it may be the place where the colon was stitched together? A double layer, slightly hardened because it has been there a long time?
I haven't asked my docs, since. I always forget about it.

No idea is this guess makes sense. Anyone here who can shine light?

My guess is its in the area of the spleen. I did have also a para aortic lymph node removed. After surgery I had a lymphatic leak and was losing 2 litres per day for 4 weeks after removal of my nodes. This then stopped. After surgery I noticed gurgling noises from this area and now it's more tender and sometimes I can feel I believe something hard in there.

Maybe I'm thinking too much into it. But I think it's worth getti g chescked out.

Ultrasound perhaps or an early CT MRI.

I had ULAR surgery so my join is a lot lower.

I don't want to say this. But it could be possible to spread to the spleen being part of the lymphatic system?

Stuff this cancer ****shit.

I had colon removed @ splenix junction.

If this is any help: my 'lump' also varied between soft (hardly palpable) to fairly solid - walnut size. But at the front (not deep/at the back, as yours)
Started to feel it Q1 2015. Had an extra colonoscopy immediately. All 6 CT's since (regular 6 months checks) said 'normal spleen'. (My docs never do ultrasound or MRI for checkup).
I've accepted that it sits there and no longer worried. Hence my 'colon connected' theory (that hasn't been confirmed)

I think it's worth getting checked out.

Of course. Let us know the outcome.

Wish you that yours is nothing too.

Note: It was in April 2015, not 2016 as said in earlier post
