A life and a death

Postby CLD » Tue Nov 07, 2017 2:20 pm

So the results of my husband's scans came back this morning and we are grateful to God and humbled to share that he remains cancer free nearly 3 years out. I share to offer hope to those in the trenches, especially to the spouses seeking answers on this site. Cancer, however, remains an uninvited and unwelcome presence in our family. My DH brother, age 43, died from lung cancer Sun night after battling the disease for nearly 1 year . He was surrounded by his family and 3 young daughters, aged 11,9,5. Today is the 1 year anniversary of their father's death.
Wife to DH/ Father of 6 (age 42 at dx) diagnosed Jan 2015 stage III CC of Sigmoid Colon (by surgeon) (Oncologist says Stage iv)
Satellite tumor deposit in mesentary
13/24 lymph nodes involved
CEA at dx: 3
Low Grade / Moderately Differentiated
Clear scans so far!!! (Most recent Nov 2017)
Started FOLFOX Feb 2015 / Finished Aug 2015
