Scan tomorrow

Postby thubler » Sun Oct 15, 2017 9:39 pm

So I have another scan tomorrow morning at 0800. Honestly I have been dreading this day for awhile. My scanziety hasn’t been too bad. I just worry because I have these two enlarged lymph nodes that have been the same size since they were discovered during my first post chemo scan. I had to work tonight so I had to drink my first bottle barium sulfate in my patrol car! Probably was a good thing I had to work to keep my mind off things. Praying for an all clear tomorrow then hopefully I will get bumped to six or 12 month scans. My onco also discussed port removal if Im still clear. I honestly feel great, Ive dropped about 40 lbs since my resection and have been running and hitting the gym regularly. Hopefully Im still on a good path.

I pray for all of you everyday and thank God for the colon club, its been amazing..

Good luck today!

I had my first post-chemo scan friday and I was definitely a bit anxious going into that- also have a 4mm lung nodule that was stable in April and present in January, right after I was diagnosed. Scan was unremarkable, aside from stuff related to my ileostomy reversal (~3.5 weeks ago) and the nodule is unchanged & likely a granuloma.. that was a big relief! Next one will be 6 mos. out...

That's good news. Unremarkable is good when it comes to scan results. On a side note how is going since your reversal. I hope well.

Yep I was pretty happy with the scan results (esp. the nodule, that was driving me nuts in the back of my mind)! thank you! The reversal is going allright as well- I've basically been cleared to start eating normally, but need to keep taking metamucil.... definite clustering over the course of the day, but so far is its tolerable. Tolerable enough that I'm going to a professional conference this weekend and will be in a plane for ~3-4 hrs... so we shall see how that goes. Either way I'm excited and ready to move forward.

Good. I'm glad you're doing well. Yes, it's the nodule that bothers me most. Need it to be stable or shrink over the next couple years. Won't be looked at on
today's scan but it was good in July and we will see in January. I hope you have a good trip. And yes, it's nice to somewhat get back to our old lives.

Thanks Susie, I hope yours went well too. Still waiting on results. The tech told me that it would be towards the end of the week because they were backed up. Im spoiled though because my last was rushed because I had an appointment the next day so I had them in a couple hours. Before that was a PET/CT that I somehow got within a couple hours too. The waiting sucks!
