Medically speaking. Will I be OK driving back from the appt? I am having the Oxaliplatin/Leukovorin 2hr/5FU Infuser and they will give me a pump to have at home for 2 days. Thanks
Just so you know... it will be a personal thing for you.
Some folks have reactions which would make it questionable to be driving ....
others have no immediate reactions and are fine.
My wife came with me for the first couple of infusions as she wanted to be there for support
BUTT I actually did all the driving for 12 FOLFOX cycles myself
( had my powerport on the upper right chest so I could use seat belts over my left shoulder without issues
when I was the driver )
See how you feel during and after the infusion
Don't be a hero... this IS a major procedure and your body needs to accept it and adjust
If you feel like shit = take a taxi or call a friend or investigate the patient "assist" services which should be available through the infusion/cancer center.
This IS a marathon not a sprint
One step at at time my friend
ONE step at a time
let us know how it goes for you
Cheers and Harmony
