Three Year CT Scan Results

Postby testing765 » Fri Oct 13, 2017 7:30 pm

Three Year CT Scan Results-

The report reads- Unremarkable CT of the chest, abdomen and pelvis with no evidence of residual, recurrent or metastatic disease. Findings are unchanged. The patient status is post prior sigmoid colonic resection.

I called the oncologist’s office because their blood work results were not yet online. I was told levels were in normal range, cea was 1.8, vitamin D3 level was within normal range and the only issue was that my blood sugar level was slightly elevated.

I lifted weights and swam at the Y between the time of the ct scan and the time that I went back to the ct place to pick up the results. When I got home, I was really emotionally drained (and did not fully appreciate how much impact the anxiety was having on me), so I took a good nap.

Thank you to everyone hear who shares their experience, strength and hope with me. I have been helped by all of you. I am not out of the woods, I am just taking steps in that direction.

I see my oncologist on Monday, but it will be anticlimactic.

Fantastic news! I'm glad to hear that things are going well.

Over the past three years you have done quite a lot of research and have asked a lot of questions here to help in navigating the difficult Stage III journey. It looks like you have posted almost 90 NewTopic posts now since the beginning, and many of these threads were for the purpose of eliciting information or feedback from members here:

Complete list of testing765's NewPosts

For newly diagnosed Stage III members, I think it might be useful for them to consider scanning through the list (above) of the threads that you have created over the past 3 years, because it can give an idea of the kinds of issues and concerns that confront a Stage III patient during the journey. At the beginning of the journey it is kind of scary for a Stage III patient to realize so many lymph nodes were involved, but after these lymph nodes were all removed with surgery and after mop-up chemo has been applied, I think that the anxiety level gradually begins to recede -- but it takes some time.

Here's wishing for many such happy milestones ahead on your journey ahead.

O Stoma Mia- Wow. I didn't realize I had posted that much! I have received so much reassurance and useful information here. I remember you helping me research at least one issue that arose concerning my diagnosis and treatment. I will be happy to help others who are new on this journey, to answer questions about my experience, to give reassurance, etc. I feel like I should pay it forward.
