I could be wrong, butt I don't think so. I know you have Lynch, thus polyps can grow faster, butt I believe it still take 2-3 yrs for a Lynch person to develop cancer from a polyp.

For the general population, about 10 yrs for a polyp to turn cancerous.

Sometime, especially those flat one, fold in the colon, not a complete clean out, some polyps do get missed. I know, not something you wanted to read.

Good luck, hopefully it is nothing serious, butt boy do I understand your fear.

Thanks lee. It was a flat polyp. I wonder if that makes a difference? All of my polyps have been that way I think.

Doctor and nurse don’t think it is , but want to see biopsy results. They want to do another colonoscopy in 3 months . I am not sure if a polyp can turn cancerous in 9 or 10 months? Anyone have thoughts?

I can't say if it is possible, but can tell you my BIL has Lynch and has a colonoscopy every 2 years and each time they find 2-3 polyps and they are able to remove them and they have all been begin ::knock on wood::. They told him just keep up and don't miss a colonoscopy and he can keep ahead of it.

I think it is pretty common to have flat polps with lynch. My oncologist has even suggested to have colonoscopy for every 6 months instead of 1 year to be in safer side.
I just pray that yours will be benign.

Mine was a flat (sessile) polyp and I do not have Lynch. Gastro said that it was probably there for years...

Yes, my understanding those are the nasty one that "can" turn cancerous. On my last scope, they took one of those from me. When I asked the Dr when do I need to be scooped again, he responded we will know once the pathology report comes back. A little scary until he said, I'm not worried. I've never been told I have Lynch, butt I get scooped every 3 years.

I was thinking of going that route as well after this. My heart can’t take this. Is there anything you need to do to get insurance to cover it every six months?
