Blood on stool/normal colonoscopy 4 1/2 year ago

Postby Jam34983 » Thu Oct 05, 2017 7:00 am

Hello I had a colonoscopy about 4 1/2 years ago I had one because I was noticing blood on the surface of my stool it was a normal colonoscopy no polyps or anything like that. I’ve been noticing blood on the surface of my stool about twice this year and I have a few questions. 1 how likely it would be something serious if I had colonoscopy 4 1/2 years ago ? 2 should I tell my doctor that I had a colonoscopy 4 years ago ? I live in a different city now so that’s why, and I feel like if i would want a colonoscopy it would be harder to get if I tell the new Dr that. 3 hypothetical if I would have developed a polyp in those 4 years how likely would it be something serious in 4 1/2 y. I don’t think I have one just a question but mom had a colonoscopy about about a couple of years ago she went in for blood in stool her colonoscopy was normal. 4 how likely of my age something Serious ? I’m 33 1/2 y getting married next year I would like all this taken care of before then. So what do you guys think should I be panicking ? I have no family history i’m still very young, should I be worried or going in calm and collective.

I had a colonoscopy 5 yrs before having the colonoscopy that detected my tumor. Surgeon said it was prob there for around 5 years and the last colonoscopy either just missed it because too small or started to form right after. I also noticed blood on the stool for a few months on and off. I assumed it was hemorrhoids because the first colonoscopy said I had internal hemorrhoids. Definitely get another, anytime there is blood it’s warranted

My first doctor missed my polyp, I kept bleeding on/off had a new colonoscopy one year later that removed a 15mm non cancerous polyp in my sigmoid.

99% of the time the scopy notice polyps, I just had a Terrible doctor. But you feel unsure, go get it checked out.
Age: 26
2017: 15mm Tubulovillous adenoma- Low grade dysplasi.
Next scopy: original 2020 probably 2018-19
