Got latest scan results

Postby Volfan » Mon Oct 02, 2017 5:10 am

Last Monday had another scan.
The two tumors shrunk again this time. Not a lot but they did at least shrink some.
The tumors are now being measured in mm compared to cm. When I first saw the numbers that kind of freaked me out until I noticed the mm part.
One tumor is 12x15 mm and the other is 12x14 mm.
The strange thing about this and I’ll ask the Doc today about it is over the last 2 1/2 months my cea has risen from 7.6 to 9.8. I guess considering I was at 103 6 months ago it’s still improvement.
One area of concern is Doc is watching liver enzymes. The chemo is beating the hell out of it right now. Scan also showed spleen is enlarged some.
Will also talk to Doc about stopping oxi today. Starting to have issues with the pain in the bottom of my feet when walking.

Great news! Just wanted to let you know that the pain at the bottom of your feet might be from 5/FU not oxi. One of the side effects of 5/FU is hand and foot. I had it on Xeloda, the pill form of 5/FU. H&F occurs more often with Xeloda, but it can also occur with IV 5/FU.

Wonderful news on the shrinkage. :)

Coming from a high CEA number myself, I can't wait to get in your range. ;)

Hopefully the slight rise in your CEA is a byproduct of the cancer dying.
