Noticed some bleeding this morning after doing daily enema

Postby susie0915 » Sat Sep 30, 2017 11:18 am

I noticed some bleeding this morning just inside the rectal opening. I just finished my daily enema. I didn't notice any in the toilet. I was putting some aquaphor on my bottom and noticed some blood on my finger. I'm thinking it's probably my hemorrhoid but wonder if I should be concerned. I just saw my colorectal surgeon about three weeks ago and he did a rectal exam and said everything felt good. It wasn't a lot and it seemed to be okay when I checked a little while later. I know after radiation the skin can be much thinner and sensitive. Any thoughts?

Hopefully nothing to be concerned about but I know how the mind works.

Call doctor on Monday if it happens again or if you just need reassurance, that's what they're there for. You've been through a lot, can't blame you for reacting to anything out of the norm.

Hugs!

Thank you Shana. Everything seemed good this morning, no issues. I will keep an eye on it and see if it continues. I have an appointment coming up with my gastroenterologist in a couple weeks, so I will talk to him about it.

This cancer is always in our head. I also made an appointment with an oncology counselor. Hopefully talking with her will help me deal with all these feelings.
Some days are good, but others can be tough.
