Worried - Your Symptom Experience

Postby SidneyWorried » Sun Sep 24, 2017 8:31 am

Hey all,

Another 25yo chronic worrier here asking about symptoms. So for many months now I've had quite irregular stools with abdominal pain.Mostly all toilet related (disappears mostly when I go for a number two, but lots of dull pain). I've not however noticed any blood in my stool, at least that I can clearly see. Worth mentioning that I've also recently had an abdomen US which showed all my organs were normal. So doesn't look like I have any cancers that would've spread to liver. So I'm chasing up an IBS diagnosis with my doctor BUT I'm of course worried about BC.

How noticeable was the blood in your stools? My stools are mostly just normal brown or a little greener if digestion gas happened too fast. Never any blood on paper and only red bits I've noticed in stool are after I've eaten red peppers/tomatoes/fruits. (Sorry graphic but true.)

Basically here for reassurance but fear not I AM chasing this up with my doctor anyways.

Thanks!

I had bleeding hemorrhoids, butt no blood was ever found in my stools.

I suspect you probably do have IBS, butt do get it checked out. A colonoscopy will give you a true diagnoses, anything else is just a speculation.

Good luck,

I had flat thin stools, there was a noticeable amount of maroon blood in the stool itself as well as bright red blood in the toilet.

I had severe pain in my tailbone (tumor was very large and pushing on it). Having a BM took 45 minutes to an hour and was so painful I would end up in tears. I could not eat without severe abdominal pain and nausea. I got to the point where I was on a strictly liquid diet because anything else was incredibly painful.

My primary tumor was large (measurements in my signature below) and was a "napkin ring" it basically narrowed that section of my colon by about 80% so it was difficult to pass things through. I pictured it kind of like one of the play doh extruders that my kiddo had - put the mass of play doh in and it's hard as heck to push the handle so it comes out in whatever shape you have picked (if only I could have gotten my poo to come out star shaped lol). That's what it was like for me anyway. Everyone is different and symptoms vary. Follow up and make sure you are satisfied that you don't have cancer. It's not whether the docs are satisfied, they need to ensure you have received all of the answers you need and are comfortable with the diagnosis.

I wish I could say that I had symptoms, but I did not. I was asymptomatic.... I just went in for a routine screening and there it was  You are very young but no one is excluded from colon cancer. If it bothers you, ask for a colonoscopy to rest your mind. One thing that I learned through this experience...better to be safe than sorry!

I am very recently diagnosed and begin chemo tomorrow for stage III colon cancer. So happy you are following up. I put my symptoms off for quite a while. Vey occasional blood in stool. As long as it goes away no problems right??? Not so much... I really had no pains. Stools had not been solid in quite a while. Blood was more frequently occuring, sometimes bright sometimes maroonish. Sometimes there was more of it other times less.

Hoping for the best for you
